OIM is made up of hundreds of Christ followers who serve side by side to love those in our community in deed and word.
Last Friday, a group of 21 youth and their leaders came to serve at OIM for the afternoon. A couple of months ago, they reached out to us to ask if there was an opportunity for them to serve with us while in Ottawa for the week over March break.
This youth group is from Collingwood, Ontario, but is connected with Catch the Fire Church in Kanata. They are able to serve at Catch the Fire during the week and sleep each night at Kanata Baptist Church. OIM has many volunteers from both churches.
The team helped us by putting 750 April prayer calendars into envelopes and turning 22 loaves of bread into sandwiches for street outreach. They also rolled countless socks! The team worked so well together and had a great time.
Most touching of all, after they cleaned up their work area and were ready to leave, they surrounded the staff and prayed for each of us. We felt so blessed to have them here.
